About the Item

This beautifully tailored 1940's secret garden green silk brocade jacket, with a village scene pattern which is accented by bronzed coloured beadwork along the lapels and mock pockets, is the perfect piece for your everyday wardrobe. The V shaped neckline is framed by rounded notched lapels, which are embellished with bronze coloured beadwork along the brocade patterns. The lapels cross over along the décolletage to create the double breasted cut. The elegant shoulder line, is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads. The full length inset sleeves, frame the fitted cut of the bodice, which is set off by Princess seams that run from the yokes to the mock pockets. The fitted waistline, draws in with two matching silk covered buttons and a concealed hook and eye, setting off the cut of the gently flared hemline, accented by two mock pockets details, which are in turn embellished with bronze coloured glass beadwork to match the lapels. This jacket is fully lined in brown crepe silk. A very small age mark along the front left hand side of the jacket just next to the collar of the mock pocket. Light and natural colour variation to the silk brocade along the external sides of the sleeves and shoulder lines, the silk brocade has a natural lustre to it and appears slightly lighter in certain areas. Gentle and light beadwork loss. Gentle colour variation to areas of the crepe silk lining. These minor details are not overly apparent when the jacket is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. Fabric: silk brocade, glass beads, crepe silk lined Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two.
