About the Item

Rendered in the most incredible silk brocade, depicting abstract hand fans surrounded by flora and fauna, in a palette of terracotta, golds, greens, oranges and blue set against a champagne cream base with gold woven thread accents, this original 1940's swing jacket is the perfect statement piece for your vintage collection. The V shaped neckline, is framed by an elegant shawl collar which boasts running stitch details along the edges and begins from either side of the back of the neckline. The slopping shoulder line is accented by a curved panel which runs along the top of the shoulder lines along the back of the jacket and the yokes along the front, finished with running stitch details to match those along the collar. The full length sleeves are accented by a wide cut and are finished with wider turned up cuff details, which are finished with running stitch details. The wonderful swing cut of the jacket is accented by double tailored darts that run from the yoke panel along the bust-line, which set off the flared A line silhouette. The jacket draws in below the neckline with a simple frog and loop button. Finished with deep pockets along either side of the front of the hemline, which are accented by curved panelled details, and running stitches. The jacket is fully lined in satin. Label: Ying Tai Co. The loop fastening along the front of the jacket has been replaced as the original one was worn down. A few gentle age marks and small pin holes to the cream silk lining of the jacket, these are very minor and not apparent. Light and scattered age marks to the external silk brocade, these are well concealed within the cream brocade and patter and only apparent under close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
