About the Item

This peachy pink silk late 1930s slip dress has the most beautiful lace insert detail to the bust and on the hem. It is cut in a very classic style, loose and flowing, with a slightly wider shape at the hip for a feminine silhouette. The bust is trimmed with very fine cream lace and features two vertical triangle shaped panels of lace at the front. The hem is also trimmed with lace with a slightly scalloped edge, which creates a lovely soft and romantic effect. Although very functional as nightwear, this slip dress would also look beautiful worn with other layers, chunky knits or as a dress in its own right. Although unlabelled, it is of superb quality and in excellent vintage condition with no issues. It was acquired as part of a large collection of mainly 1930s - 1950s lingerie which had remained unworn for over 40 years.
