These ultra-structured leather shorts by Claude Montana for Idéal Cuir are an exceptional example of the designer's avant-garde mastery in the early 1980s. Crafted in supple camel-colored lambskin, the piece reflects Montana's signature approach to tailoring: architectural, bold, and dramatically refined.
With a sharply pleated front, double snap-button closure, and exaggerated hip paneling, the shorts echo military and Art Deco influences - trademarks of Montana's Spring/Summer 1983-1984 collection, a season considered among his most powerful creative peaks.
As seen in archival footage and photographs of the 1983-84 runway, Montana elevated everyday silhouettes into sculptural statements. This model appears to be a direct variant featured on the catwalk, though color may vary from production to show samples.
