About the Item

The Mod style is one of the most iconic fashion eras. Rising in the late 1950s to 1960s, the Mod style grew out of the rising British youth culture and were characterized by juvenile silhouettes, and soft coordinated colors. The Mod style is emblematic of an easy cool and a carefree lifestyle. This midi length jersey wrap skirt features a polka-dot print of lavender, lilac, and royal purple dots trimmed in white on a black ground. The chunky dot shapes are reminiscent of the headlights on the iconic Mod Vespa motor scooters that likely inspired this 1970s design. The skirt along the front, and at the waistband is bordered in a royal purple that provides necessary balance as the dot pattern snakes across the skirt in a dynamic diagonal route. Additionally, the wild print is made more extreme by the waist pleats that impart an additional layer of undulation to the design. With a rather straight silhouette, this skirt mixes classic lines with a vibrant monochromatic print. Size estimate: XS/S Measurements: Waist: 24 inches Hips: 36 inches Length: 35.5 inches Made of smooth poly jersey and lined in a purple poly crepe, this skirt is a fun, classic, and quirky vintage style. Through the hips it has a traditional pencil skirt fit that flares slightly as it goes to the hem. On the waistband, the skirt can be fitted and adjusted with hidden snaps and a two-toned mauve and crème coloured button. This unlabelled vintage wrap skirt is in excellent condition with some mild wear at the waist and has been professionally cleaned and pressed.
