About the Item
Sybil Connolly is a well known Couture Designer who worked in Ireland. Jackie Kennedy wore one of her designs for her official White House portrait. Connolly used native fabrics and techniques for her designs, the most well known being the pleated Irish linen dresses and skirts with nine yards of linen for every one yard of pleated fabric. This butter soft black hand woven wool evening skirt has an allover open weave pattern which allows the cream colored lining to show through. The skirt is marked a size 6 and it is in excellent condition.
