About the Item
Known as the Irish Couturier, Sybil Connolly is most famous for her extremely rare pleated linen clothing. She used fabrics that were produced in Ireland almost exclusively, and the linen in this skirt is an example of the quality workmanship. Each garment uses nine yards of linen to make one yard of pleated linen. The pleats are all hand stitched into place. This stunning deep black linen skirt is lined in black silk and it is all hand finished in the couture manner. All of the pleats are tight and the skirt is in excellent condition. There is a double set of of hooks and eyes on the waistband above the center back zipper. It is true black, the photos have been taken to show the pleats. Measurements; Waist 30" Hips Full Length 44"
