When American suburbanites embraced bowling in the 1950s, there was no more coveted label in bowling shirts than King Louie. Bright and vibrant, this “striking” blue example has been left without branding…and begs for a breast patch or league logo. Royal blue short sleeved button front shirt with point collar and two buttoning breast pockets; horizontal rear yoke and Eisenhower pleats at shoulders. 5 blue button front closure with hidden button and loop at throat; unlined. fabric: rayon noteworthy: gently machine or hand wash in cool water; hang dry alterations: none condition: good with three small areas of fraying at left and right waist (likely where shirt was abraded by tucking in) and gentle frays at collar points (see photos) measurements: collar: 3” at widest neckline opening: 4” (with throat button undone) shoulders: 15 ½” sleeve: 9” from shoulder, 5” from underarm sleeve circumference: 17” at upper arm, 14” at mid-bicep chest: 46” waist: 44” length: 25” from shoulder, 27 ½” from rear neck, 16 ½” from underarm label: Ten Strike by King Louie size: vintage size medium; comparable to modern size medium
