About the Item
This claret colored wool suit is a striking example of his exquisite tailoring. The trim jackets and narrow skirts were a byproduct of World War II fabric restrictions. The ingenious use of seams, pockets, buttons and ties was a byproduct of the genius that was Adrian.
The jacket is distinguished by the button treatment, grouped together in sets of four at the neck and waistline. There are four pockets as well and three of them are fully functional. The fourth, the one with the button adds symmetry to the design. The intricate cut of the fabric allows for a tailored and narrow silhouette. The skirt is distinguished by a kick pleat at the left side. The jacket is lined in a matching shade of silk and it retains the original shoulder pads. The two buttons at the cuffs are replacements. Both the jacket and the skirt are in excellent condition.
