About the Item
This is a really fun and original two-piece resort-wear or "riviera wear' skirt set. It probably dates from the late 60s or early 70s and is couture made. It would certainly hold its own today on the beach in Cannes or Malibu! The skirt is exceptionally well made and is composed of a man made georgette-type fabric in the most fabulous shades of purple, lilac, white, grey and pink. It is completely lined in a quality cream acetate and fastens to the side with the original purple metal zip as well as hook and eyes. The skirt length will be ankle length or just above on the average height woman. The top is a sleeveless, front fastening, tie wrap that crosses over at the bust. It wraps around the waist and could be tied at the front or the back depending on preference. The top is not lined. This set has lost its original designer or retailer label but it is incredibly well made. We suspect this came from a very high end British fashion house due to the craftsmanship which is at couture standards. Condition wise it is excellent - there are no issues of any note. Will fit size UK 8-10 or US 4-6 with a small waist best.
