Malcolm Starr Mod Gold Lamé Brocade Coat Pant Suit, 1960’s

About the Item

1960’s Elinor Simmons for Malcolm Starr gold lamé pant suit in shades of blue, aqua, orange and green with an exotic geometric print. The Nehru style coat zips at the front with gold and silver braid trim. The coordinating pants zip at the front and have a high waist cut at the front which dips at the back. Both pieces are fully lined and labelled. CONDITION Good to fair condition with signs of age and wear. The braid on the jacket shows wear especially at the cuffs, please see photograph 16. The jacket lining shows fading under the arms and across the shoulders, please see photograph 15. There is a subtle fabric pull at the lower back panel. The pants are in good condition though they appear to have been previously altered at the zipper … possibly to expand the hip and waist, please see photographs 17 and 18. Professionally cleaned and ready for wear. SIZING MEASUREMENTS Marked U.S. size 8 and best fits a size 4 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4. Please note, the pants have a very narrow fit in the hips … even with the alteration!
