Ronald Amey rare evening coat
matching evening dress in devore velvet
silk satin from the 1970s. This set is very unusual, rarely, do you find an evening coat
matching dress together. The fabrics are in champagne silk satin in the bodice yoke on both the coat
the dress and devore pale cream velvet in the body of the coat
dress. The velvet is cut to resemble moire or watered taffeta, and has a cut wavy, watery design. The tones of the satin
velvet blend beautifully. The long dress has is sleeveless, the satin yoke is empire waist, top stitched throughout in a design that follows the shape of the pieces. The bodice has a wide V at the front. The dress is an A line shape that begins to flare at the upper waist and falls full to the hem, there are on seam hip front pockets. The dress is fully lined in off white silk and closes at the back with a zipper and hook
eye at the top. The matching coat has a silk satin yoke front and back, with a stand up band collar, the coat front is open and closes with 5 self loops and classic Amey faceted round crystal buttons, the coat is open below to the hem. Top stitching follows the satin yoke shape similar to quilting. The body of the coat is matching velvet and like the dress, and tapers through the empire waist and flares at the hem. There are on seam hip front pockets, the coat is fully lined in off white silk. Long sleeves taper slightly to the wrist. Both pieces are in excellent condition and look barely worn. Fits like a size 4.
