About the Item
Quintessential Sonia Rykiel ensemble consisting of a pullover sweater and slim skirt in ivory wool knit, c.1980s. On top, the sweater is distnguished by a button opening in front and an attached tie in ribbed knit, while the body is crafted of fine purl knit. An outstanding design feature of the sweater lies in the sleeves, which are wide at top and are open under the arm, as seen in the photos; the sleeves taper to a finely ribbed knit cuff. The straight skirt hits below the knee and has two slits in front that emanate from vertical seaming; in back there is a center seam. Side zipper. Pieces are unlined. Soft shoulder pads, easy to remove if desired.
