About the Item
Charles Frederick Worth, the Father of French Couture, started his business in Paris in 1858. His two sons succeeded him in 1895.
This receipt for Madame Heberton is dated May 16, 1903. From it we learn that she purchased one outfit made form grey toile with a scarf. The receipt is framed and appears to be in excellent condition with faint fold marks indicating it was folded in quarters. I have found some information that indicates Mrs. Heberton was listed in the Philadelphia Social Register around this time.
