Shakudo Style Letter Clip from the 19th Century. A realistic coiled snake in different mixed metals forms the clip over a etched leaf. Hinge is top of clip to open for letters. Beautifully hand detailed. The leaf has patinaed and has not been polished but will clean well. 19th Century Japan. 3.5" x 1.5".
