About the Item
This very beautiful cream bag, with iridescent cream sequins and white beads, was made in British Hong Kong, circa 1960s. It has silver tone fittings, with a rhinestone double clasp, and snake chain handle. The cream satin lining features a pocket, and a label 'Made in Hong Kong'. One of the rhinestones in the clasp has moved in its setting. The sequins and beads are in very good condition.
Measuring maximum width 22 cm / 8.6 inches, by height 14.5 cm / 5.7 inches, and handle drop 13 cm / 5.1 inches.
After WWII, under British influence, Hong Kong manufactured superior quality items including beaded sweaters and dresses, wicker bags, and tailored silk suits. If you are a vintage afficionado, you may have a British Hong Kong piece in your wardrobe!
