Rare and elegant Gucci signature travel suitcase from the 50s-60s. vintage. Made of rigid structure and lined with light fabric . Note the band representing the institutional colors of Gucci manufacture surrounding the bag in red and green cotton fabric. The handle is always very elegant dark leather that allows the movement of the case. Completing the suitcase are its dark brown leather inserts and details. An incredibly rare item. Probably a custom order by Hermès, dated c.ca 1959. I tan leather, with a leather looped top handle. GOOD CONDITION: Some darkless on the leather, some small light general wear. Small crack on one of the handle end. All visible in pictures. Maps and papers all in excellent shape. This extremely rare hard-sided round hat box was made by Goyard Paris most likely in the 1950s. We contacted Goyard and they confirmed that these hat trunks were made between the 50s and the 70s with the linen pattern jacquard fabric, and were made in two sizes and with three leather trim colors (black, natural and burgundy). This piece is trimmed in black leather and is substantial in size: it measures 21in W x 19in H x 10in D with a total circumference (measuring around the outside) of 64in. It fastens with two side latches and one locking front latch and has a black leather carry strap. Inside, the case is lined in yellow fabric, has one elasticized pocket and still retains it's original cinch ribbons at the bottom. Perfect for the collector, interior designer, stylist or for travel - this piece is truly unique and so hard to find, especially in this size. In exceptional condition for its 60+ years of age, we note some very tiny digs and rubs to the black leather trim, most notable to the bottom, some small spots to the interior pocket, and while this piece is still absolutely solid in construction, we note some very slight curvature of the shape, typical of older luggage and most notable when the case is completely empty.
