About the Item
This truly magnificent early 1960's large velvet handbag, rendered in a divine shade of deep cerulean blue and rich jewel tone colours depicting two red birds, surrounded by plush foliage and flowers, is a rare piece to behold.
The rectangular shape of the bag, is set off by a gold toned metal frame, which boast a central lift lock clasp. The bag opens to a black rayon satin lining, with a large central compartment and small side pocket, beneath a zip locked pocket. Finished with a white gold toned metal chain handle. The front and back of the handbag feature the same velvet design.

Material:rayon satin lined, metal hardware, velvet exterior.
Condition: In near perfect vintage condition, with general tarnishing and light wear to the metal frame and chain handle. A small area of wear to the velvet finish along the top left hand side corner. Light and natural impression marks to the velvet throughout. Light and natural wear to the rayon satin lining. These minor details are not apparent when the bag is being used, and do not detract from the incredible beauty of this piece.
