The boards were executed with a stencil according to the collages and on the cutouts of Henri Matisse, by Edmond Vairel who used the same linel gouaches as the artist. The cover and pages of the manuscript were engraved and printed by Draeger Freres. He shot on velin d'Arches, CCL examples, numbered from I to CCL and XX non-commerce copies numbered from I to XX. All examples were signed by the artist. It was also released in C albums containing exclusively all the boards of the album. Example number XLIII. Printed by Ernst Wartelsteiner in Munich and bound by R. Oldenbourg GmbH, this second edition sought to preserve the visual intensity and tactile essence of Matisse’s late style, offering a museum-quality publication of one of modern art’s most iconic fine art works.
