THE ARTIST:
Robert Kenneth White (b. 1950) is an American painter recognized for his luminous landscapes and coastal vistas, shaped by early exposure to the Monterey Valley and later life along the California coast. Deeply influenced by the traditions of John Singer Sargent, Claude Monet, and Norman Rockwell, White’s work reflects both technical precision and emotional resonance.
White paints from direct observation, saying, “I don’t paint what’s inside me—I paint what I see outside of me.” His collectors include institutions like Fairmont Hotels and the Four Seasons, as well as private clients such as Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, and Michael Douglas.
