"Half a day of leisure in this fleeting life, Stealing a breath of air amidst the busy rush. Sitting quietly, listening to time flow slowly by. Seeking not more, Seeking not fast. To have this moment of peace and stability Is the true blessing."
The sculpture depicts a figure in a state of deep relaxation, settled comfortably as if letting the weight of the world drop away. Ser Uang Huang uses his signature technique of preserving the knife marks to give the form a rugged, natural feel, contrasting with the serene philosophy it represents. Carved from Taiwanese Mersawa Wood, the piece radiates a grounded energy, reminding us that happiness is often found not in achieving more, but in savoring the quiet moments we already have.
