Photographie Lynn Goldsmith en noir et blanc
Américain, b. 1948
Lynn Goldsmith a documenté plus de cinq décennies de culture américaine, capturant des stars des Beatles et des Rolling Stones à David Bowie, Blondie et Iggy Pop. Profitant de l'accès privilégié aux artistes dans les années 60 et 70, elle a créé des clichés perspicaces et sincères qui vont bien au-delà du rock and roll. Goldsmith a une relation de travail particulièrement étroite avec Patti Smith qu'elle a photographiée pour la couverture de son légendaire album Easter en 1977. Cette photographe primée a publié 12 livres à succès sur son travail ; elle travaille également comme réalisatrice de films documentaires et comme chanteuse et compositrice (sous le pseudonyme de Will Powers). Les œuvres de Goldsmith font partie des collections du Smithsonian American Art Museum, de la Collection Polaroid, du Museum Of Modern Art, du Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography et de la collection permanente du Museum Folkwang.à
