Art d Israël Robert
Américain, b. 1939
Robert Israel est né aux États-Unis en 1939. Il est un concepteur de décors et de costumes réputé pour l'opéra et le théâtre. Ses créations ont embelli le Lincoln Center Theater, le Metropolitan Opera, l'English National Opera, le Vienna Staatsoper, l'Opéra de Paris, le De Nederlandse Opera, le Royal Danish Opera, le Bayerische Staatsoper, le New National Theater of Tokyo, le Lyric Opera of Chicago, le San Francisco Opera et le Festival dei Due Mondi à Spoleto. Les dessins de costumes d'Israël font partie des collections du Museum of Modern Art de New York. Il a reçu une bourse Guggenheim et un Obie Award. Membre élu de l'Académie américaine des arts et des sciences, M. Israel est également professeur à l'École des arts et de l'architecture de l'UCLA.
