On the Design:
Emerging from the nomadic artistry of the Larkhabi region in Afghanistan, this piece is woven using the revered Soumak flatweave technique. This meticulous wrapping of the weft threads imparts a subtle, braided texture and sculptural depth, setting it apart from traditional kilims. The design is a symphony of horizontal bands featuring rich, intricate diamond motifs that appear like luminous jewels against a warm, earthy palette of russet, sienna, and brown.
