This powerful Antique Kazak Rug is a monumental and highly sought-after tribal textile from the South Caucasus, dating to circa 1890. Measuring 149 x 201 cm (approx. 4'11" x 6'7"), its generous room size and dramatic, bold design make it a commanding art piece for any gallery or sophisticated interior.
The composition is centered on a vibrant madder red field, which features a vertical column of three massive, geometrically stepped medallions. These impressive motifs are intricately detailed with angular latch-hook extensions and are rendered in contrasting colors of cream, navy blue, green, and orange/gold. The bold scale of the motifs and the strong contrast between the red field and the medallion colors are classic characteristics of the Kazak style.
