This exceptional vintage Persian Shiraz rug is a commanding expression of nomadic intelligence and ancestral memory, hand knotted in precious wool by tribal weavers whose designs were never decorative alone, but deeply intentional. Rooted in the ancient weaving traditions of southern Iran, this piece carries the unmistakable authority of Shiraz craftsmanship—bold, symbolic, and unapologetically powerful. The exclusive composition unfolds across a glowing red field, anchored by a vertical procession of three stepped lozenge medallions—architectural in presence, almost talismanic in effect. These medallions act as spiritual waypoints, linking earth and sky, past and future. Within and around them emerge esoteric tribal symbols: birds and peacocks as guardians of paradise, Goz eye motifs warding off harm, pinwheels and rosettes suggesting cosmic movement, and the iconic “hands-on-hips” (Elibelinde) forms evoking fertility, protection, and feminine strength.
