About the Item
A large mid-19th century bronze model of a dancing satyr or faun after a Hellenistic or Republican period (300-100 BC) original discovered in Pompei in 1830. This particular model shows a high quality cast as well as an unusual mixed metal palmette inlay on the base, also inscribed ' del Nero' for the Del Nero foundry, Roma, late 19th century. This bronze model retains its original green patina.
