About the Item
Very fine 17/18thC heavy Tibetan Bodhisattva from my 30-year personal collection. The warm rosy glow of the surface, the softness of the metal, and its incredible weight point to their being precious metal mixed into the alloy (likely a good amount of gold in this statue according to one expert in Gilded Tibetan and Mongolian bronzes who recently examined it). The rich alloy gives the thickly cast statue a unique look. It has been in the group of favorite pieces I am offering for sale just now for the first time as I near retirement. my all-time best. 6.25 inches tall - 9461.

18th C Tibetan Bronze Tsong Ka Pa, Very Best of Its Type-Special - 9763
Located in Ukiah, CA
9763 - Finest 18th C Tsong Ka Pa. World class. Measures 6.75 inches tall. Purchased 10 years ago from a high-end Silicon Valley collection for my personal collection, that was forced to be sold off due to divorce. The Collector had an extremely good eye and had managed to put together a world-class collection 20 years ago before pieces like this became nearly impossible to find. recently, and since I have medically retired and moved to Ukiah oh, I have decided to merge my personal and Buddha Gallery Collections and have put everything up for sale. I am in the process of listing the very last of my personal items that have previously and not been available for sale up until this point. I bought many of them for strong prices as I bought them as a collector who is passionate about Buddhist and Hindu sculpture, and who only buys what I truly love myself. I have been collecting for more than 35 years now, as my collecting tracks alongside my Buddhist Meditation and Buddhist practice.
Note the very fine beating on the robes-the Promote the level of refinement to the casting, sculpting, and finishing required means that only a fraction of the top 1% of Tibetan bronze sculpture...

Nepalese Gilt Bronze Bodhisattva
Amoghapasha?
, Early to Mid-20th Century
Located in Austin, TX
A beautiful and unusual gilt bronze figure of a Bodhisattva, possibly Amoghapasha, Nepal, early to mid-20th century, circa 1930s or 1940s.
The regal figure possibly depicting the bodhisattva Amoghapasha, the Unfailing Lasso. The enlightened being is portrayed seated upon a high double lotus pedestal. He is dressed as an Indian prince, wearing a luxurious foliate patterned dhoti around his waist and a billowing scarf around his shoulders. . His torso bare save for the jeweled necklaces and the sacred thread. A five pointed crown with an image of Amitabha Buddha in the central point graces his head.
His princely face cold painted with beautiful detail, his hair colored blue with crushed lapis lazuli, indicating his peaceful nature. Amoghapasha holds a lasso in one hand, an axe in the other. He is considered an emanation of Avalokiteshvara. A bodhisattva of compassion, Amoghapasha is so named because of the lasso he holds in his hand. The lasso represents his vast compassion which is thought to extend to encompass all beings, bringing them into a state of perfection and enlightenment.
The copper base plate, seemingly a later replacement, has been inscribed with a visvajra (double vajra...
