About the Item

size: φ1900㎜ 700g Estimate packing size: 35×65×15㎝ 4kg This is an antique Japanese indigo-dyed cloth. It is thought to have been used as a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) for wrapping things. The indigo-dyed colours are beautiful, and as material scarcity was a time when it was spun and used with great care. The repair marks are also fascinating. A pattern that appears to be a family crest is embroidered in the centre. The marks in the corners read "mountain" and "village," and it was probably owned by someone named Murayama. There are no large holes, but there are small holes from repairs, etc. Please note that it is an old item. It looks beautiful when hung on the wall, and would also make a great tapestry. ▲▲ Notes ▲▲ *In order to build a relationship of trust with our customers, please be sure to contact us via the inquiry form before purchasing.
