About the Item

Beneath the soft grayish-green glaze, incised lotus design emerges. The surface is adorned with flowing lines depicting lotus flowers and leaves, rendered in a refined carving technique that imparts both simplicity and vitality. These stylized natural motifs exemplify the aesthetics of the Song dynasty. The glaze is thin and translucent, applied evenly over the surface. Traces of glaze runs and fine crazing contribute to the aged charm of the piece.
