This antique Chinese table gong is hanging on a carved wood stand. It features beautiful carved fretwork on the bottom and detailed carving work of decorated dragons on the top of the wood frame. This antique gong is 100% hand made. Overall this gong is in very good antique condition with some minor blemishes due to age but definitely a quality workmanship you don't find anymore today! Size: 43in H x 38in W x 13in D Gong: 12.5in D Origin: China Circa: Early 20th Century Material: Wood, brass Condition: Original finished. Well balanced. hand carved, normal age wear. The original Nine Dragon Wall was built during the reconstruction of Ningshou Palace in 1772. It is 29.4 meters long, 3.5 meters high and 0.45 meters thick. It is a single-sided glazed screen wall built against the palace wall. Very famous in Chinese history. Up for your consideration is a reproduction of wooden carved nine dragon wall for decoration only. It has very delicate carving works of nine dragons on the front and nine phoenixes on the back. Also, there are four dragon posts to support the roof. Look at the detailed photos, there are some minor wears due to the age. but it still maintained its very good condition. VERY RARE, MARVELOUS, ANTIQUE Chinese Hardwood carved Dragons stands. Extraordinary angular hardwood table stand raised on parallelogram base. PROVENANCE: From a private collector in Southern California. The collar is intricately carved with a floral pattern that can be seen throughout. Just below the upper surface is an umbrella-shaped apron that flows into the angular mighty legs that run down to flaring wide footing standing. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected. Very heavily Dense hardwood throughout, with a fine grain. All reserved in hand master carved and the smooth surface elaborately carved with detailed dragons motif in deep reliefs with hundred dragons in various formation, enormous front facing imperial dragons standing, Yin and Yang formation, and snarling huge imperial dragon careening through cumulus clouds, scrolling ruyi above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a dark brown color dragon squama rounded the stands. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons.
