About the Item
Very early Himalayan Buddhist Bronze Figure. Based on other early Himalayan Bronzes I have seen, I'd put it at 11/12thC and possibly a few centuries earlier. I have shown it to a number of knowledgeable collectors and dealers, and no one has seen another quite like it. Everyone has agreed that it is an extremely early example. Note the large bubble eyes, the big hands- they are reminiscent of many other even earlier styles that came just before (Kasmir, Pala, Swat, etc). He has real personality!
