As for me, I specialize in Japanese antique furniture and objects. With 20 years of experience as a buyer, I am leading Japanese antiques with a new perspective. This is an old architectural model made in Japan. It is called 「KURA　蔵」 in Japan. It is a warehouse built separately from the so-called main house. The details are unknown, but we assume that it was built to serve as a kind of sales material to encourage carpenters to build Kura. The elaborate construction of this warehouse never ceases to amaze me. It is mainly composed of cedar wood, and the white parts are coated with plaster. The double doors are made of zelkova. When the doors are opened, the inside is hollow. There is a Chinese character 「龍」 written on the upper left side of the door, which means dragon. The reason why it is written “dragon” is not clear at all, but it is a unique point. It is, after all, a one-of-a-kind object with a wonderful aged taste. Weight 9 kg. Since ancient times, people have created and passed down necessary tools from familiar materials to survive in the severe struggle against nature, and have nurtured a lifestyle and culture. By using these objects over a long period of time, they accumulate a sense of flavor and reflect a way of life. In today's world, where cheap and disposable items are encouraged, the act of repeatedly re-creating things around us by modifying them opens up a new world. With this philosophy in mind, we collect beautiful, powerful, and unique carefully selected antiquities from Japan.
