About the Item
This antique low table was made in the Taisho era.
The tabletop is made of a single piece of high-quality zelkova wood. The legs are lathe-turned.
It is unified with a ginkgo surface finish that rounds the corners. In addition to being less likely to chip, the right angles create shadows, giving it a soft yet tight design.
The legs are attached using the traditional Japanese method of "ari-za", so it can accommodate the expansion and contraction of wood.
Even now, more than 100 years after its manufacture, the tabletop remains beautiful and crack-free.
It is an excellent product with a structure that makes use of good old Japanese techniques.
It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as a center table, a writing desk, or a display shelf.
