About the Item
This is a tasteful antique storage shelf made in the Meiji period.
Made from cedar, the dark wood gives it a deep flavor.
No nails are used for the joints, but the traditional "mortise and tenon" technique is used, and the high level of skill of the artisans can be seen everywhere.
It becomes more flavorful over the years, and exudes a presence that quietly fits into a Japanese space. It can be enjoyed not only as storage, but also as a display shelf.
