About the Item
This wooden board was made in the Taisho era.
The dense and beautiful grain of the wood, unique to time-honored zelkova, is eye-catching. The color that has deepened over the years, the irregular wood grain created by nature, and the rough expression created by the cuts all have a unique charm.
This board is engraved with evidence that it has survived nearly a hundred years. The traces of the craftsman's handiwork at the time, as well as the scratches and chips that have been engraved in the course of life since then, give a sense of the weight of history.
It can be used in a variety of ways, such as leaning it against a wall as it is, using it as a shelf, or using it as a material for new furniture. It will play a part in creating a unique space, such as a space that wants to incorporate the atmosphere of an old house or as an accent for an industrial atmosphere.
