Japanese Old Rusted Toy Car "Porsche" 1960s-1980s / Figurine Wabisabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese toy car, heavily rusted with age. Its form appears to resemble that of a Porsche, and it is believed to have been manufactured in the post‑war Showa period (1960s–1980s). Made of tinplate, it still retains traces of its original shape, yet its entire surface has been enveloped by rust over the decades. One can only imagine the harsh conditions it endured to arrive at its present state—likely left outdoors for many years, exposed to wind, rain, humidity, and the unrelenting passage of time. Through oxidation, the metal surface gradually weathered and transformed. Yet it was never discarded, surviving against the odds to remain with us today. The texture of the tin, combined with the deep corrosion of the rust, creates a presence that transcends its origins as a toy, elevating it into an art piece in its own right. The rust is thick across the entire surface, and small flakes may come loose if the piece is handled or impacted. While it will be packed with the utmost care, please understand that some rust shedding may occur upon unpacking. This is a natural characteristic of aged metal objects. Even in its weathered and decayed state, it retains an undeniable charm that embodies the Japanese spirit of wabi‑sabi. This is beauty not found in perfection or newness, but in the quiet elegance of transformation and imperfection brought by time.
