About the Item
A charming Korean high fired gray pottery stoneware footed vessel, Three Kingdoms Period, Silla Kingdom, circa 6th century.
The vessel of traditional form, with a perforated high splayed foot supporting a globular body and high neck with a slightly everted mouth. The body of the vessel has been incised with bands of wavy lines. A natural ash glaze from the firing process graces large areas of the neck and body.
The vessel displays a strong wabi-sabi quality, with its rough texture, uneven foot, and lopsided form.
