About the Item

This ceramic piece features a low, rounded form with a narrow mouth, exemplifying refined simplicity and balance. The surface is covered in a rich, deep crimson glaze, likely derived from copper oxide, exhibiting subtle tonal variations and a soft, lustrous sheen. Fine crackle patterns (crazing), occasional iron spots, and glaze bubbles add to the visual depth and character of the piece. The mouth and foot reveal areas where the glaze has thinned or is absent, exposing the white porcelain body beneath—an intentional feature often seen in Langyao red-glazed wares from the Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty. The unglazed foot ring and celadon-toned interior further enhance its aesthetic appeal. Overall, the vessel combines understated elegance with technical sophistication.
