About the Item

This is a wooden workbench used by Japanese lacquer craftsmen when they used lacquer. It is thought to have been used in the northern Kanto and Tohoku regions. The period is approximately 1900 to 1950.50. And while most lacquerware production tables are relatively long and larger, this one is small. We don't know what kind of work was done specifically, but since there is lacquer on the staff and legs, we can assume that some kind of painting work was done on this. This workbench was handmade and is thought to have been made of pine wood. It gives a very rustic and rather powerful impression. It is an item that gives the impression of a primitive ruin, with long and thin stone slabs stacked on top of a very large stone slab. It is small but powerful. There is a slight twist in the chi, but it can be used as a stand for small vases, etc. Items like this are hard to come by. This is a rare item.
