About the Item

These two blue-and-white water vessels, made at the Chu Dau kilns of 15th–16th century Vietnam, feature a single pouring spout and five functional lugs used for gripping or attaching cords. The bodies are slightly flattened for stability, with lotus-petal and scroll bands encircling the shoulders. One vessel employs a repeating cloud-scroll pattern, while the other depicts orchids and vegetal forms, reflecting two decorative modes within the Chu Dau tradition. The grayish cobalt tones, natural diffusion, and age-related wear are consistent with authentic production of the period.
