About the Item

A large Chinese dish of rounded shape with a raised rim hand-painted in underglaze blue with birds and an insect in a pond with flowering blooms set within a floral and bird painted border with painted designs to the underside of the dish. The base is covered in brown barnacles and the glaze has worn due to its time spent on the sea bed. The dish has an old paper label attached to the base and is not marked.
