About the Item
In this listing you will find a stunning Antique porcelain "Cadogan" teapot, also known as a puzzle pot. This is a Chinese blue-and-white porcelain pouring vessel in the form of a globular ewer / wine pot. This type of teapot is unique because it has no lid and is filled from a hole in the base. The pot is filled by inverting it and pouring liquid into a hidden internal channel that uses a vacuum seal to prevent spillage when upright. Made in China, during the Guangxu period, in the end of 19th century.
The pot is in very good antique condition.
