About the Item

Beautiful example of an antique Chinese Martaban style jar from the 19th century. Terracotta with an olive hand applied glaze. In the glaze is also hand painted symbols, flowers and a bird. Large shape with high shoulders. Was used for spices and ginger storage. Now would look exceptional as a planter with lush leafy vegetation. 13” tall 12” wide 12” deep
