This round, porcelain ginger jar is brightly glazed in the blue-and-white manner. A combination of stenciled linework and hand-brushed shading, the sides and lid are enlivened with an allover pattern of trailing vines and flower blossoms. A border of rectangular lappets decorates the base and a band of auspicious ruyi rings the neck, a motif for good health and immortality.
