About the Item
A very fine antique Chinese Qianlong porcelain hand painted famille rose plate with floral designs dating from the 18th century. The lightly potted plate is of rounded shape standing on a carved unglazed foot and is finely hand painted with a central flowering hawthorn tree set amidst flowering prunus and bamboo. The scene is set within a simple linear border with a more formal repeat pattern finely painted around the rim with further floral patterning set between decorative panels and a scrolling border. The plate has a brown painted edge and is not marked.
In good condition with wear associated with age and use with a few tiny glaze nicks around the rim mentioned for accuracy.
