About the Item
This petite ceramic bottle is a Ming-dynasty (1368-1644) vessel originally used for serving rice wine or spirits. The small round bottle is beautiful in its imperfection, shaped with slight asymmetry and a pattern of ridges left by the potter's fingers. Dated to the 15th/16th century, the vase is minimally decorated with a sheer celadon glaze of off-white color and faint traces of the original cobalt brushwork at the shoulders.
