About the Item
A very finely made antique Chinese Qing Dehua white porcelain tripod censer with hardwood cover and associated stand dating from the 18/19th century. The small censer stands raised on three elephant mask and trunk feet supporting a squat ovoid body with C scroll strap handles applied to either side of the body. The censer has a creamy white glazed finish and is not marked. It has a fitted hardwood cover which has faded over time along with an associated hardwood stand which we believe to be later. The censer is offered in good condition. Measurements are provided without the stand.
Provenance: From the private collection of an eminent Doctor who amassed his collection during the 1940/50’s and acquired by the present owner in the UK Art Market in 2015.
