About the Item
A good quality antique Chinese Ming period blue and white porcelain dish or bowl decorated with precious objects dating from the Wanli reign 1573 to 1619. This finely made bowl stands on a narrow rounded partially glazed foot with kiln residue and is of shallow rounded shape with raised edge and slightly everted and shaped rim. The inner bowl is hand painted in underglaze blue with a central arrangment of precious or scholars objects and is surrounded by eight smaller roundels containing further similar objects set between roundels with floral designs. The underside of the rim has a simple blue design and the bowl is not marked.
In good condition with old paper labels attached to the base.
