About the Item
A globular Satsuma vase decorated with polychrome enamels and gold on a cobalt-blue ground. The neck features an elegant raised floral motif reminiscent of a chrysanthemum.
The body is adorned with large panels on a stippled ground, finely painted with courtly scenes.
The panels are divided by elegant gilt geometric motifs. Kinkozan impressed mark beneath the base.
Period: Meiji, late 19th century
Dimensions: 15 × 12.5 cm
Condition: Very good condition. Light wear to the enamel and gold consistent with age is present.
